Bollywood has given us all kinds of music. Right from the flashy item numbers to romantic ballads. These songs lift our moods when we feel down or when we need to pick ourselves up and move on. Some Bollywood songs have become a part of our playlist that we listen to everyday with the same amount of zest. Songs also help when we are in pain and recede into our shells to recoup. Another masterpiece from the maestro! This song has Benaras written all over it. The songs transports you virtually to the gullies of Benaras and the ghats of the sacred Ganga with its mystical lyrics expressing a love that is divine and surreal beyond the comprehension of the world. This song is soothing and fills your heart with pure emotions of love.
5. Chandni Raatein...(Shamsa Kanwal)
A beautiful song from the late 90's that will make you nostalgic. Chandni Raatein captivates your senses with the fervent voice of Shamsa Kanwal and the mesmerizing music will be a treat to your ears. The song is a rendition of a Qawaali by Badar Miandad Khan Qawaal, which is also suggested along with the cover by Shibani Kashyap. All three versions are equally soulful and soothing.

This beautiful song from Hasee Toh Phasee is one of my personal favourites. Vishal and Shekhar are one of the very best in the industry, if not the best. They have proved it time and time again and this song is yet another example of their musical ingenuity. The melodious song reaches out to your heart with the voices of Chinmayee Sripada and Shekhar Ravijaani. The lyrics of the songs written by Amitabh Bhattacharya are exquisite.

Another recommendation from the same movie is this beautiful song. The magical voice of Sanam Puri makes you resplendent. The musical brilliance of Vishal and Shekhar coupled with the intense lyrics by Kumaar makes this song a must have in your playlist.
What can you say about a song composed by A.R. Rahman, sung by Alka Yagnik and Arijit Singh and the lyrics written by Irshad Kamil? Surreal! Mesmerizing!! Even terms like these cannot describe the song. It is a lovely song that can be hardly described with words. Another must have in your playlist.

To the SRK fans out there! Straight from my personal favourites! The fabulous trio of Shankar Ehsaan and Loy have composed the music for the song and Shafqat Amanat Ali has sung most of the part of the song supported by Shankar Mahadevan and Caralisa Monteiro. The song is from the Dharma Production movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006) and is splendid!

Another beautiful song from the same movie that is worth listening to is this scintillating track sung by Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam. The music of the song has been composed meticulously by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy and is yet another mesmerizing rendition by the trio.

The soulful track by Armaan Malik for those who believe that love is eternal and unconditional. The song has been sung elegantly by Armaan Malik and the music has been rendered by Amaal Malik. The lyrics of the song have been penned down by Rashmi Viraag. The video of the song features Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta. This awesome track will definitely make into your playlist.
10. Main Tenu Samjhawaan Ki....(Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya)
The final entry in my list is this sweet song from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya sung by Arijit Singh. The music of the song is given by Sharib-Toshi and Jawad Ahmed. This song is inspired by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's song by the same name from the album Virsa (given in the suggestions below). The song is mesmerizing and portrays the pain of the love in a subtle yet cogent manner. The lyrics, music and the overall experience of the song is enticing.
